Scientists Create Sheep thats Part Human

Scientists at the University of Nevada have successfully created the worlds first sheep that is part human. The sheep is made up of 15% human cells, and 85% animal cells however it has human organs. If this technique can be perfected it may make mass organ harvesting possible. This could be accomplished by extracting stem cells from a donors blood, and then injecting them directly into a sheep fetus. Then when the sheep is born, it has human organs which could be used for transplants into humans. Anyone remember that Michael Bay movie…The Island? Yeaahhh…

Touchless Touch Screen

The touchless touch screen sounds like it would be nice and easy, however after closer examination it looks like it could be quite a workout. This unique screen is made by TouchKo, White Electronics Designs, and Groupe 3D. The screen resembles the Nintendo Wii without the Wii Controller. With the touchless touch screen your hand doesn’t have to come in contact with the screen at all, it works by detecting your hand movements in front of it. This is a pretty unique and interesting invention, until you break out in a sweat. Now this technology doesn’t compare to the hologram-like IO2 Technologies Heliodisplay M3, but thats for anyone that has $18,100 laying around. You probably wont see this screen in stores any time soon. Check out the videos of this in action below. Source: Crave

Using Skype and Unlocking Your T-Mobile SDA

img413_883.jpg
This cool tutorial walks you through how to unlock and overclock a WiFi enabled T-Mobile phone to run Skype. Unlocking your phone will also allow it to be used with other mobile providers such as Cingular, Verizon, any provider with SIM cards. To get started you will need…

  • A PC running Windows (Windows XP is best, if you can swing it)
  • Your T-Mobile SDA
  • A USB-to-Mini USB cable (the one that connects your SDA to your computer)
  • Some amount of sanity
  • A desire to be free of (or have the ability to be free of) your current network

The only downside of unlocking your phone is that it will void your warranty, so proceed with caution. via Make Magazine

Porsche has always raised the bar for the auto industry with the performance and handling of their top of the line sports cars. It tops out at a stunning 193 mph and can hit 60 miles an hour in just over 4 seconds. Even though the performance stats are pretty impressive Porsche has always been know for the amazing handling of their cars, and the GT3 is again…no exception. Giant Robotic Pandas Solution to Extinction?

p1020329.jpg

Maybe pandas aren’t going to go extinct after all.  This giant robotic panda seems to be able to waltz around and do what every other panda does, shake hands and hug humans.  Although its proportions are a bit off, and its neck looks a bit stiff, the giant robot panda is some step forward in the robotic world, even if we haven’t quite figured out what step that is.  More pictures below..
