Awhile back we posted a first look at the Sony Vaio VGN-UX50, an innovative handheld PC developed by Sony.  The Vaio VGN-UX50 features a 4.5" LCD screen, 512mb of RAM and a nice 30 GB harddrive.  A review of the mini Vaio has just surfaced over at Digital World Tokyo.  They say  "In conclusion, the UX50 is clearly a clever product with plenty going for it if — and that’s a big if — you can find a real need for it. At $1,500+ it is far from cheap, which really is the bottom line for anyone wanting an entry-level PC. And realistically, that’s precisely how this performs."  Check it out

On the surface it looks too small to be useful as a tablet replacement, and too large to be useful with a thumb pad.
